Sports patron Manny V. Pangilinan, through the MVP group of companies, has promised the Azkals up to P3 million worth of performance incentives if the national team moves further in the knockout stage and ultimately conquer Southeast Asia’s top football competition.
Smart chief wireless adviser Orlando Vea announced on Tuesday that the Filipino booters will receive P1 million if they advance past Singapore in the semifinals and P2 million more if they defeat the winner of the other semifinal tie between Malaysia and Thailand in the finals.
The Azkals are in Singapore for the second leg of the semifinals to face the Lions in their home turf at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Wednesday night.
