MISAGH Bahadoran is doubtful for the Philippines' home fixture against Nepal on Tuesday due to a suspected MCL tear.
Bahadoran played in their friendly against Malaysia on Wednesday but had to be helped off the pitch as he was subbed out in the 30th minute for Mike Ott.
There was no major collision as Bahadoran just abruptly sat down the middle of the pitch, clearly in pain.
Azkals team manager Dan Palami isn't too optimistic about seeing his attacker in action for Tuesday's 2019 Asian Qualifiers match.
"No. You dont ever risk getting the player injured. That's the responsibility of management. We want to make sure that we don't jeopardize their health," Palami said.
"So it's a day to day observation. We would chat if it's just the muscle or if there's an MCL problem," he added.
If it turns out to be a torn MCL, Bahadoran could be out of commission longer and that's more bad news for Palami.
Bahadoran's club team Global FC is up for an all-important home match against Malaysian powerhouse Johor Darul Ta'zim on April 5 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium following a 4-0 beating at Johor last week.
Global is just one point behind JDT for the lead in Group F.
