CERES Negros FC trounced Shan United, 5-0, on Wednesday to clinch a spot in the Asean zone semifinals of the AFC Cup at the Thuwanna Youth Training Centre Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
Bienvenido Marañon scored a hat trick as the Busmen clinched a spot in the Asean semifinals after collecting 15 points after their fifth win in Group G.
Marañon converted in the 38th, 43rd, and the 71st minute before Carli De Murga (80th) and OJ Porteria (85th) completed the rout of the still winless Shan United side.
Ceres goes for a sweep of the group on May 15 when it goes up against Becamex Binh Duong of Vietnam in a home match at the Pana-ad Park and Football Stadium.
