“ElClasico is here and what happens in this game is followed by millions of people, it is admired by the whole world. It is the paradigm of how sport can bring together and inspire millions of people. It is an excellent example of touching people from a purely sporting point of view, it is when sport crosses the barrier of sport itself”, said Almudena Gomez, LaLiga Delegate to the Philippines.
Befitting the most watched club match in world football with a potential global audience of 650 million, the game has had unprecedented global visibility thanks to a plethora of LaLiga activations.
Apart from the festivities that happened in Manila, football fans from across the globe were also given the ultimate “ElClasico” experience. LaLiga has organized 108 activations in 52 countries on five continents around the world, including 17 with both global and local partners, reaching over 10,000 fans who participated in physical events such as public viewings and watch parties.
“I hope our Pinoy football fans all enjoyed this magnificent game and experience. As the tagline puts it: this is the rivalry that unites the world–because we share the same passion!” said Gomez.
