KAYA FC-Iloilo has confirmed that it will face Shanghai Port FC in the playoff match for a spot in the AFC Champions League on June 23 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The club made the announcement on Sunday after its preliminary match in the AFC Champions League qualifiers was cancelled following the pullout of the Brisbane Roar.
The runners-up in last year’s Philippines Football League season are now one victory away from claiming a seat in the group stage of Asia’s top club competition.
The winner will move to Group F and will play against Thailand champion BG Patham United, Vietnam titlist Viettel FC and Ulsan Hyundai of Korea.
Shanghai Port placed fourth in the Chinese Super League last season.
