JARVEY Gayoso notched a brace to lead Ateneo to a 4-0 battering of Adamson in the UAAP men's football tournament at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Sunday.
It did not take long for last year's co-top scorer to find the back of the net as he zoomed past the Falcons' backline just fourth minute in to open the floodgates for the Blue Eagles.
Rookies Inigo Herrera and Samuel Lim also found the back of the net after the interval to add to the misery of the Falcons.
Herrera put himself in the scorer's column in just his first game in senior's action, scoring a free kick in the 57th minute before his fellow newcomer Lim put in the third goal of the night for the Katipunan booters 10 minutes later.
As if the pummeling wasn't enough, Gayoso fittingly put the finishing touches to the romp, scoring a screamer from way outside the box in the 71st minute.
The win allowed the Blue Eagles to match Far Eastern University's winning start to the season while Adamson joined University of Santo Tomas at the bottom of the table.
