STIPE Plazibat will be a name that will haunt Global Cebu FC for a long time.
The Croatian forward once again came to Home United's rescue as he scored two late goals to propel his squad to the AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal Finals following a 3-2 win over a 10-man Philippine side at the Jalan Basar Stadium in Singapore.
Two weeks after nailing the equalizer in Manila, Plazibat made sure to finish things up this time around, scoring in the 89th and 92nd minute in a frantic finish in Singapore.
Plazibat scored off a second a touch inside the box in the 89th minute to tie the game before a curling free kick in injury time formalized Home's entry to the finals.
It was deja vu for Global as they looked in control of the game up until the 71st minute when Dennis Villanueva was given a straight red after a rash challenge.
An early penalty from Kemy Agustien in the third minute got Global going ahead. Song Ui Yong tied the game for Home with a impressive screamer in the 36th minute but Shu Sasaki was quick to take it back four minutes after the half with a diving header off the rebound.
But just like their first leg when Amani Aguinaldo was sent off in the 75th minute, Global had to go through the same ordeal when Villanueva was given the boot following a flying challenge.
This time, the Cebu-based Club paid for it dearly.
Now only one Philippine team remains in the competition as Ceres Negros takes on Johor Darul Ta'zim on Wednesday in Panaad.
