A DEPLETED Global FC failed to sustain its gains in the first half as it bowed to Yadanarbon, 2-0, in the Asian Football Confederation Cup in the opponent’s turf at the Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Myanmar.

Despite having only 13 players available due to injuries, the United Football League champions held their Burmese counterparts scoreless in the first 45 minutes, but conceded twice after intermission to absorb their second loss in three matches.

That dropped the Philippine representative to the bottom of Group G with only one point to show after the first phase of the double-round eliminations.

The defeat also left the Philippine representatives with a mountain to climb. Only the top two teams advance to the Round of 16 from the four-team bracket.

Global tries to get back at Yadanarbon when it hosts the Burmese side in its first match in the second round on May 15 tentatively at the Philippine Stadium in Bulacan.
