GLOBAL FC took an all-important win away from home as it blasted Boeung Key Ankor in Cambodia, 2-0, to move a top of the table in the 2017 AFC Cup on Tuesday at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Phen.
Paul Mulders scored on both halves as the Philippine side improved to six points after Magwe drew with Group F powerhouse Johor Darul Ta'zim earlier in the day.
Mulders needed just four minutes to find the back of the net as he scored a screamer from just above the box to put the away side ahead early.
The Cebu-based club then doubled its lead in the 65th minute as Mulders calmly sank a penalty on the bottom right corner of the goal which almost got saved by the Cambodian keeper but went straight into the net.
The Cambodians tried to push late in the match, but Patrick Deyto had none of it as he secured every attempt from BKA to keep all three points.
Malaysian side JDT remained at second place with four points just before Global heads into its home turf next week.
Boeung Key Ankor remained winless after two games, while Magwe is at third with a solitary point.
