GLOBAL FC saw its Asian Football Confederation Champions League campaign come to an end on Tuesday night when it bowed to Brisbane Roar, 6-0, at the opponent's turf in Australia.

The Philippine representative surrendered four goals in the first half and never recovered.

Global now trains its sights on the AFC Cup later this month.

Brandon Borrello struck four goals, including a hat-trick in the first half, while Spanish import Manuel Arana chipped in a brace for Brisbane.

Still, it was a commendable finish for Global, which made history as the first Philippine club to play in the continent's top club competition.

The reigning United Football League champions reached the second round after shutting out Singaporean side Tampines Rovers, 2-0, last week at Rizal Memorial Stadium, moving two wins away from reaching the group stage.
