BEATING Johor Darul Ta'zim may already be a tall order in itself, now Global-Cebu FC will have to do it without one of its top stars.
The Philippine side will look to grab the top spot in Group E when it plays host to the Malaysian side in a crucial AFC Cup fixture on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Kick off is at 7:30 p.m. with Global still missing the services of forward Misagh Bahadoran, who injured his knee in the national squad's friendly against Malaysia.
At seven points JDT still holds a one point lead over the Global, halfway through the first round. Only the top team from each group and the top second place will advance to the next group.
The midfield tandem of Safiq Rahim and Mahali Jasuli will once again be pulling the strings for the Malaysians as they try to create further separation from the rest of the pack.
Gabriel Guerra and Brian Ferreira, the squad's Argentinean reinforcements, are also two players who could potentially give the Cebu-based club a world of trouble.
Goalkeeper Patrick Deyto knows that they're gonna have to play better if they want to have a chance against JDT.
"We just have to put on a better performance than we did (last time)," Deyto said. "We have to play better as a team and play harder."
Without Bahadoran, Toshiaki Imai will now look at Azkal veterans Dennis Villanueva and Paul Mulders to lead from the front.
