NEWCOMER General Trias outclassed an undermanned Philippine Navy, 5-0, on Thursday night for a promising debut in the United Football League Cup at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Korean-laden club started strong and took advantage of a Navy team that went down to just nine men in the second half.
Substitute Myung Soo Song struck twice, while Kyu Hwan Lee, Geun Young Nam, and Hoan Cheol Do scored a goal each. General Trias dominated possession throughout the game and had a 21-4 lead in shot attempts.
Navy suffered its first blow after Loreto Kalalang was sent off in the seventh minute. The team’s woes were then compounded when Lyndon Zamora followed his comrade out the pitch after picking up his second yellow card in the 46th minute.
