SVEN-Goran Eriksson revealed he has pancreatic cancer and might have less than a year to live.
The legendary Swedish coach served as the first foreign-born coach of the England national team from 2001 to 2006 and also won titles at club level with Lazio in Italy, Benfica in Portugal and IFK Gothenburg back in Sweden.
Sven's Azkals stint
The 75-year old Eriksson's last coaching job was in the Philippines from October 2018 to January 2019, where he coached the Azkals in the Suzuki Cup and Asian Cup. He was replaced by consultant Scott Cooper.
In 10 matches in charge, he led the Azkals to 2 wins, 2 draws, and 6 losses.

He told Swedish Radio P1 he discovered he had cancer after collapsing suddenly. He reduced his public appearances last year, citing health issues.
“Everyone understands that I have a disease that is not good, and everyone guesses that it is cancer and it is,” Eriksson said in an interview, adding he had pancreatic cancer and is inoperable.
“At best I have maybe a year, at worst maybe a little less,” he said.
