A FOOTBALL stadium will soon be erected at the expansive Villar City in Cavite.
To be named as the Villar City Stadium, the structure will also house basketball, volleyball, padel, pickleball, and badminton courts with the football pitch as the centerpiece.
The stadium will be constructed in the University Town area of the megacity located in Dasmarinas, Cavite.
A memorandum of agreement was signed on Saturday morning at the Brittany Hotel in Bacoor City between Villar Group chairman Manny Villar and Golden MV Holdings director Paolo Villar, along with All-Star Properties Inc. chairman Dan Palami, CEO Mel Macasaquit, and COO Misagh Bahadoran.
“We envision a facility that will house everything that is all about sports. Our kababayans will now have the best option rather than enduring the traffic to go to other sports venues in Metro Manila just to compete or watch international sporting events,” said Manny Villar.
“Moreover, they will also have the opportunity to experience the amenities and benefits of the most modern sports facility in the country."
Palami said they are looking at a three to four-month time period for the completion of the football pitch, which will be meeting FIFA standards, a priority in its construction, in order to draw competitions locally and internationally. The group is also looking at a 3,000-seater stadium.
“Our aim is to always help and advance the interests of Philippine sports. Building a sports hub that features all the perks of a modern and state-of-the-art facility is a most welcome way to solve one of the perennial problems of sports development here in the country,” Palami stated.
“The Stadium will not only be a venue but also the means to fast-track the development of several sports programs and projects in the country for many years to come."
Developers are also assuring of the stadium’s accessibility which can be accessed through the Manila-Cavite Expressway (MCX) and Daang Hari Road.
