MANILA Digger reached the finals of the PFF Women’s League after a 4-3 win via penalties over Far Eastern University recently at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Hannah Faith Pacheco scored the marginal goal during the penalty shootout, with Kyla Marie Doctora’s shot hitting the crossbar to end the match that was also temporarily suspended due to heavy rains.
Manila Digger will face the winner of the tussle between Kaya FC-Iloilo and De La Salle, the date of which dependent on the result of the Filipinas’ Asian Games campaign.
Kaya FC-Iloilo’s Hali Long, Inna Palacios, and Cam Rodriguez, and La Salle’s Alisha Del Campo are currently with the Philippine national team in the Asiad.
Kaya FC-Iloilo, Stallion win first leg of Copa quarterfinals
Kaya FC-Iloilo and Stallion Laguna FC got a head start in the Copa Paulino Alcantara quarterfinals following win in the first leg on Friday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Jarvey Gayoso had a brace as Kaya beat University of the Philippines, 3-0, while Cristian Ivanobski also had two goals to lift Stallion to a 5-0 win over Maharlika Manila in the first of two legs in the quarterfinals.
Gayoso scored in the 13th and 53rd, while Robert Lopez Mendy also padded the lead in the 83rd.
Ivonbski knocked in the first goal in the 26th, and a penalty in the 40th.
Other goal scorers were Yuta Nomura (32nd), Zazhary Ford (63rd), and Ruben Doctora (79th).
