FILIPINAS FORWARD Katrina Guillou will now set her sights for a new team in club football.

After spending years with Swedish football club Piteå IF, Guillou will now take a leap of faith by joining another Swedish team, Hammarby Fotboll. The announcements were made on the club's official website.

Hammarby are currently the defending Damallsvenskan and Swedish Cup champions.

In her introductory video, Guillou revealed how she was contacted by the Swedish football champions.

"I think I was in South Korea with the National team, but hearing what the club has done in recent years, it has been kinda just an easy opportunity for me to say, 'Yeah why not?"

Seeing what the club has accomplished in the previous years, Guillou looks forward to leave a mark with the team.

"It's been great to see how well they have done, year after year and improving on top of that, especially with the year they had last year, winning the cup, winning the league. I think it's amazing and now to be able to try and help them improve on top of that, I think it would be nice."

A new experience awaits Guillou

The move to Hammarby will be a different experience for Guillou, who spent years playing on the northern side of Sweden.

Now she will be located in Stockholm, the capital of the country.

"I was telling my family last night, it's definitely a 180 from what I'm used to, but it's nice being a part of the central part of everything. You can just basically walk around the street and see the stadium, a few minutes away, grocery store, everything is pretty nearby, so it's nice," reflected Guillou.

What will Guillou bring to Hammarby?

Then when talking about her overall contribution for the club, Guillou revealed that is willing to do everything for her new team.

"Kinda a little feisty one sometimes. I like the runs in behind, I like to do some combination plays, but I'm also willing to do a little bit of the dirty work when it comes to it. So at the end of the day, anything to help the team win."

She even dug deeper saying: "Definitely passing the ball around the opponent, kinda pulling them out of position, getting the ball into the box and just a nice calm finish."

Guillou has been known to be an offensive sparkplug as she can be deployed either as an attacking midfielder or a forward.

In her years playing in Sweden, Guillou has served as a goal-scoring menace. Under Morön BK, Guillou racked up 21 goals, appearing 49 times for the club.

In Piteå, she scored 12 goals across 61 appearances.

From 2022 onwards, she racked up 12 goals in 37 appearances for the Philippine Women's National Football Team.
