THE Philippine Azkals bowed to China, 3-0, on Friday night in their second match in the AFC Asian Cup 2019 at the Mohammed Bid Zayid Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Wu Lei scored a brace as China picked up its second win for the Group C lead as the Azkals remained winless after two games to stay at the bottom, their chances of advancing to the round-of-16 now slim to none.
The Filipino booters will close the group stage with a match against Kyrgyz Republic on Wednesday at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai.
Wu opened the scoring for China with a superb strike in the 40th minute before following it up in the 66th minute with the blast from the inside the box.
Yu Dabao scored the insurance goal for China with a header in the 80th minute.
