THE Philippines will face Thailand in the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 after being joined together in Group B following the draw ceremony on Thursday in Jakarta.
The Filipino booters were also drawn with Malaysia, Myanmar, and Laos in Southeast Asia’s most prestigious men’s football tournament to be held from July 24 to August 26.
A match to watch for the Philippines will be against Thailand in a rematch of last edition’s semifinal encounter.
PMNT defeated the War Elephants, 2-1, in the first leg of the semifinals at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on a late goal by Kike Linares last December 27, 2024, believed to be the first time Filipinos triumphed over Thais in 52 years.

Thailand, however, recovered in the second leg at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, and beat the Philippines, 3-1, to win on aggregate, 4-3, and reach the final of the tournament previously named as the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup.
Group A is composed of defending champion Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the playoff winner between Brunei and Timor-Leste.
