MOROCCO stunned Poland, 1-0, on Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup at the Philsports Arena.
The Atlas Lionesses progressed in beating the No. 14-ranked squad in the world just three days after they defeated the Filipina5, 3-2, in come-from-behind fashion.

Jasmine Demraoui scored the only goal of the match in the 20th minute for Morocco, ranked 31st, on their way to joining Argentina in the quarterfinals.
It was Demraoui who also manufactured the go-ahead goal for Morocco in its win over the Philippines.
“I can’t explain into words,” said Morocco player Hajar Tahri. “We gave everything that we had and I think we have more to show to the world. It’s our first World Cup, so we did everything and we want more.”
Tahri furthered that the victory vs. the Filipina5 was huge after its 6-0 loss to Argentina to start the tournament.
“Our first match wasn’t good, but we gave hope to ourselves,” said Tahri.
