Marlon Stockinger looking to bounce back at Silverstone after tough start in GP2

    Jun 23, 2015

MARLON Stockinger hopes to finally bounce back as GP2 goes to Silverstone in England in July.

Out of the points in the previous races in Bahrain, Barcelona, Monte Carlo and Austria, the Filipino-Swiss driver for team Status Grand Prix looks to finally make it to the points column.

Twenty-six drivers from 13 teams are seeing action in 10 legs this season, with Stoffel Vandoorne of Belgium on top of the standings, 76 points clear of American driver Alexander Rossi after four legs.

Stockinger’s mother Egin is confident they will make it to the points this year.

“It’s very challenging because the car he now uses is heavier, and this series is different from where he used to race. But overall as a rookie driver in a series of GP2, he is doing very well,” she said.

“I talked to him four days ago. He is confident and hopeful that he will earn points in this series. Of course, it will be tough but he is doing everything he can.”

Stockinger scored a win in the GP3 Series in Monte Carlo, also with Status Grand Prix, in three years ago.

Before the event at Silverstone, Stockinger will take part in Slipstream 2.0 where he will drive his Lotus World Series racecar around the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig for his main sponsor Globe Telecom.
