YOUNGSTER Isabella Pasion was like a sponge in gaining experience as she was able to soak in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup atmosphere as a reserve.
Isabella Pasion relishes World Cup experience
At 16 years old, Pasion was one of the youngest players in the World Cup rosters.
Though not officially playing in a match, she said that she was able to pick up a lot being surrounded by her more experienced teammates.
“I think it has pushed me even more and like getting more experience to play so just with these girls and train every day.” Pasion said during the Filipinas’ media availability at the adidas Brand Center on Thursday.
“It has made me a better player. I think it shows me how much I need more to grow just because I am so young. So, I'm excited to see where the future takes me.” she added.
Apart from growing her own skill-set, the midfielder also relished the chance to join the Filipino community in celebrating her teammates playing in the World Cup.
“I don't have much to say but because it was just a surreal experience and even though I wasn't able to play, I think just being in the culture and environment of the Filipinos, it felt like home.” she said.
Pasion will be looking to make more waves as she nears senior age with spots in the Asian Games and the second round of Olympic qualifiers up for grabs.
The 16-year-old made waves when she scored in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers to force a 2-2 draw with Hong Kong.
