JUST BY SEARCHING Alisha Lehmann's name on Google and phrases such as 'the most beautiful female footballer player' or 'the most followed Instagram female football player' would appear.
With over 13 million followers on her Instagram account (more than Swiss Tennis star Roger Federer), there is no doubt that Lehmann is a popular personality in the football world. Heck she even has a ton of videos on YouTube.
And with her appearance in the match against the Philippines in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, fans who are unfamiliar with her are suddenly intrigued.
Who is this 5 ft 5, 24-year-old, Swiss forward?

Lehmann plays in the top flight of English football
The Swiss forward currently plays for Aston Villa in the FA Women's Super League, racking up 7 goals in 43 appearances since 2021.
Prior to that, she was loaned to rivals Everton where she garnered a goal in eight appearances, and before that she was invovled with West Ham United, with 9 goals in 42 appearances.
While she has spells with the top teams in England, she didn't start her career there as she first began her senior career with Swiss team BSC YB Frauen. From there she scored 25 goals in 52 league appearances.
Playstyle
The match against the Philippines saw glimpses of her playstyle, where she serves as a support option upfront to aid Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic. Similar to her striking partner, Lehmann has a solid hold-up play.
Some clips about her stint in the top flights of English football would reveal her prowess in advancing the ball from the wide areas as she would challenge opposing defenders or form triangles or passing angles with her teammates.
Alisha formerly identifies herself as a lesbian
This may come off as a surprise but Lehmann once dated her Swiss national teammate, Ramona Bachmann, who was also present during the match against the Filipinas. Eventually she moved on from her and began a relationship with Aston Villa's midfielder Douglas Luiz. The pair lasted until 2022.
During her youth Alisha started her career joining Young Boys, where she teamed up with male footballers. While many were attracted to her, she didn't really mind her teammates.
Alisha is a boss!
An interview with Sky Sports Football revealed that Alisha is also a businesswoman as she hinted that she is currently running an app called BootBag.
Her app aims to further promote the women's football scene as consumers can use it to scout on female football players. Alisha also mentioned in most of her interviews that she wishes to see the community appreciate the women's football scene, which has been overlooked.
