THE FILIPINAS drew with Myanmar, 1-1, on Wednesday night but the result wasn’t enough as they have been ousted from title contention in the ASEAN MSIG Serenity Cup 2025.
The Philippines has been dethroned as champions of the regional tournament as they failed to claim a two-goal win for the squad to reach the semifinals and extend their campaign.
Even with the draw, Myanmar topped Group B with seven points on two wins and a draw, and will face Group A second-placer Thailand in the semifinals.

Australia U23 joined Myanmar in the semifinals after routing Timor-Leste, 9-0, to finish Group B at second place with six points on a pair of victories that included a 1-0 win over the Philippines last Sunday.
The Young Matildas will battle Group A leader Vietnam as a new ASEAN champion will be crowned this year.
Win Theingi Tun scored on a penalty kick in the 33rd minute after drawing a foul on Filipinas goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel inside the penalty box.
Nina Mathelus scored the equalizer in the 71st minute, but the Filipinas couldn’t come up with another goal to pick up the victory.
The Filipinas had a promising start to the tournament after beating Timor-Leste, 7-0, but hit a hurdle in their title retention bid after a one-goal loss to the Australia U23. The Philippines finished third in Group B with four points (1-1-1 win-draw-loss record).
