THE Filipina5 ended its FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 by being routed by world No. 6 Argentina, 5-1, on Thursday at the Philsports Arena.
Early goals by Argentina inside the first seven minutes of the match were more than enough to complete its sweep of Group A in the final outing of the Philippines in the women’s futsal worlds.

Isabella Bandoja gave the Philippines some sort of consolation by scoring in the 28th minute, giving the 2,811 pro-Filipina5 crowd a moment to celebrate and avoiding a scoreless outing against the ranked squad.

The host country lost all its matches in the tournament – a 6-0 loss to Poland and a 3-2 defeat to Morocco.
Prior to Bandoja’s goal, Inday Tolentin and Bella Flanigan had scoring chances that would have brought the Filipinos on the board. Tolentin even had a shot in the 24th minute that hit the right post.
Lara Villalba (2nd), Mailen Romero (4th, 7th), Luciana Natta (4th), Agostina Chiesa (7th) were the goal scorers for Argentina.
“We did very well,” said Bandoja. “Siyempre last game, binuhos na namin lahat, dugo’t pawis namin na tinrabaho simula nung trainings.”
“We all just played our heart even until the last minute in order to represent the country and make our country proud. We fought ‘til the end and I’m extremely proud,” said Filipina5 goalkeeper Samantha Hughes.
