BRAZIL was crowned as the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup champion after beating Portugal, 3-0, on Sunday at the Philsports Arena.
Emilly capped her impressive performance in the tournament with the opening goal in the ninth minute before Amandinha and Debora Vanin followed suit with goals in the 19th and 37th to lead the world No. 1 to the title.
Golden shoe
Emilly later captured the Golden Shoe and the Golden Ball after scoring seven goals in the tournament.
Brazil, as expected, proved a cut above the rest in the inaugural edition supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee.

Brazil topped Group D by a total goal difference of 17, reasserting its tag as the favorites. It whipped Japan, 6-1, in the quarterfinals, and Spain, 4-1, in the semifinals before the gold medal match against Portugal.
Spain beat Argentina, 5-1, in the third-place match.
