DE LA Salle coach Hans Smit not only lost Game Two of the UAAP women’s football finals series to Far Eastern University but also his mobile phone on Sunday morning.
The fiery head coach found out that his mobile phone, a Samsung SIII, was stolen after the second game of the women’s football championship series against FEU at the Moro Lorenzo field inside the Ateneo campus.
Making matters worse, the Lady Archers were swept by the Lady Tamaraws in the best-of-three series following a 0-2 Game Two loss.
A friend of Smit who requested not be named said Smit’s phone was inside his backpack on the team’s bench when the incident happened.
A La Salle team official also said that it may be possible that the mobile phone was stolen during the team’s pre-game prayer.
After the incident, league officials beefed up security for Game Two of the men’s final between Ateneo and University of the Philippines.
