THE PHILIPPINES will face off with Chinese Taipei for the final berth in the next qualifying stage of the AFC U-19 Women’s Championships after Friday's 0-4 loss to Myanmar in the Round Two of the qualifiers at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Myanmar handed the Philippines its first loss in two outings with two goals from Nilar Win to capture one of two berths in the next stage of the Asian U-19 event.

Chinese Taipei, meanwhile, forced a rubber match with the Philippines for the final berth with a 5-0 thrashing of Hong Kong.

“This is the first time that many of my teammates have played in an international tournament,” said midfielder Camille Rodriguez going into their do-or-die match with the Taiwanese. “I’ve seen my teammates come together despite all difficulties. This is a must win for the Philippines. All out, all heart. Whoever wants it more will win.”

Myanmar is on top with six points while the Philippines and Chinese Taipei are tied for second place with three points.
