TOP footballers are lending a hand to victims of Typhoon 'Maring.'
Planned originally to benefit the Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation Inc., the Clear Dream Match proceeds will now also support relief operations for victims of the heavy rains and floods that have hit Metro Manila and surrounding regions over the past three days, organizers said.
Clear brand manager Drew Copuyoc announced the decision on Thursday in the press conference of the event, featuring football icons Fabio Cannavaro and Dennis Wise.
“The weather has been bad the past few days and we are doing our part to help,” Copuyoc said.
The event, now on its second year bannered by celebrated brothers James and Phil Younghusband, is set on Saturday night at the University of Makati pitch.
Despite heavy rains that caused floods all over the country, the UMak pitch is considered in playing condition, according to Copuyoc after conducting an ocular inspection earlier in the day.
