CHESTER Gio Pabualan scored two goals as defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman overpowered Ateneo, 6-0, on Sunday in the UAAP juniors football tournament at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field.
The unbeaten Baby Tamaraws are on top of the four-team table with nine points.
Pabualan, a striker from Bukidnon, Pabualan opened the scoring in the 13th minute and struck another just before fulltime to take the lead in scoring with three goals.
FEU-Diliman also got goals from Nikko Jay Caytor in the 46th minute, Orian Togores in the 64th, Christian Bacara in the 74th, and John Villaseñor in the 84th.
De La Salle-Zobel and University of Santo Tomas battled to a scoreless draw in the other match.
The Junior Archers took second spot with four points, the Blue Eaglets are third with three points, with the UST Tiger Cubs in last place with one point.
Second round begins on Wednesday at the Moro Lorenzo pitch with La Salle-Zobel facing Ateneo at 2 p.m., and FEU-Diliman taking on UST at 4 p.m.
