CERES Negros looks to hold on to the top spot in Group F of the 2018 AFC Cup when it takes on Shan United on Tuesday evening at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
The Busmen were held to a 1-1 away draw with Singapore’s Home United.
Now they look to get back to winning ways back home when they take on the Myanmar side in a rematch of their Asian Champions League qualifying match last month.
Ceres pulled out all stops to beat this tough Shan United squad the last time out, as they ended up 1-1 after 120 minutes before the Negros side outlasted Shan through penalties.
The Busmen expect nothing different this time around.
"Oh they're tough. We played against them one game and we played to a draw, so it will not be easy. This is the AFC Cup, all the teams here want to win and tomorrow is not any different," said Ceres coach Risto Vidakovic.
"If we want to beat them, we have to give 100 percent. This is the only way how we have to prepare the game. Now were at home. Everyone has to be motivated everyone has to give everything. I think there is no choice, we have to win," he added.
The last time Ceres played at Panaad, the Busmen beat Boeung Ket Angkor, 9-0, to open their AFC Cup campaign.
"We're just all motivated and focused for the game," said midfielder Mike Ott. "Everyone played very good the last game here. Everyone wants to do his job. We all want to win the game."
