SHAH ALAM, Malaysia — Ceres Negros FC looks to regain its formidable form in a bid to advance to the next stage of the AFC Cup when it faces Felda United FC in a return match on Tuesday at the Shah Alam Stadium here.
The Bacolod-based squad takes on the Malaysia side at 4:45 p.m.
Ceres leads Group G with five points but has only registered a single win in the form of a lopsided 5-0 victory over Tampines Rovers FC of Singapore last March 7 at the Pana-ad Stadium.
The Busmen, who only lead on goal difference in the table over Hanoi FC, is coming off a scoreless draw against Felda last March 15 in front of its home fans but nearly got the win after a miss by Lucas Cano.
Now as the visiting team, Ceres Negros FC coach Risto Vidakovic sees a tougher task to get a win on Tuesday despite a competitive match the last time against Felda.
“It’s a different game and different stadium. We play away, they playing home. We know each other already much more from three weeks ago. They didn’t play games, we didn’t play games so it’s totally different game,” said Vidakovic during Monday’s pre-match press conference.
“I think it will be a very hard game for both teams. Everyone is a champion or second place in the group so it’s very, very hard. Every game, you have to fight for the points so I think it will be the same in this game also,” he added.
Azkals mainstays Ian Ramsay, Kevin Ingreso, and goalkeeper Roland Muller, who also made a great save in the last match against Felda, are expected to pick up the cudgels once again for Ceres.
