BIENVE Maranon bagged a hat-trick as Ceres Negros put one foot into the AFC Cup knockout stage with a resounding 4-0 win over Boeung Ket Angkor at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Phen, Cambodia.
The prolific Spaniard fired two quick ones in the 36th and 37th minute, teeing off a Stephan Schrock feed early on before pouncing on Boeung's faulty backline a minute later.
He completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute when OJ Porteria skillfully blew past his defender and teed him off with a beautiful assist to shut down the door on the hosts for good.
Newcomer Takumi Uesato got in the scoring party as he scored from afar in the 84th minute as Ceres sustained its impressive run in the tournament with 13 of the possible 15 points and a massive +16 goal differential.
The Negros side will look to secure a spot in the knockout stage when they host second-running Home United on April 25.
