CERES FC gave its home crowd a lot of reason to cheer about - five actually.
The Negros-side produced a five star performance as it demolished Tampines Rovers 5-0 to also move at the top of its table in the 2017 AFC Cup, Tuesday in front of a rocking Panaad Stadium in Bacolod.
Beinvenido Maranon got a brace as Iain Ramsey, Manny Ott, and Fernando Rodriguez also got themselves on the scoresheet in a match that was pretty much decided in the first 45 minutes.
It took just 28 seconds for Ramsey to find the back of the net as he curled right one from outside the box.
The goal was just an indication of things to come as Maranon scored in the 24th minute as Izwan mistimed his approach on the ball, leaving Maranon with the net at his mercy to put Ceres ahead two-nil.
Ott completed the first half goalfest with a screamer also from outside the box in the 38th minute.
Goals continued to pour for Ceres in the second half as Maranon completed his brace by getting the better of Izwan anew with a chip on the counter.
Rodriguez finished Tampines off for good measure with a beautiful backheel goal in the 72nd minute.
The win put the Busmen on top of Group G with four points as the Singaporean side remained at second with three.
Hanoi's draw with Felda United earlier moved them at third with two points, while the latter stayed at the bottom with a point.
Ceres will remain at Bacolod as it hosts Felda United next week.
