ATENEO was held to a scoreless draw by University of Santo Tomas but kept its lead in the UAAP football competitions after Far Eastern University bowed to De La Salle on Thursday at the Ateneo field.
The standoff kept the Blue Eagles on top with 20 points after their second draw in eight games.
The Tamaraws absorbed a 1-2 defeat against the Green Archers, and both squads now stand right behind the Blue Eagles with 18 points.
Jesus Melliza scored the match’s first goal in the 42nd minute but David Diamante knocked in goals in the 52nd and 82nd to seize the lead.
Meanwhile, Anthony Antipolo’s goal in the 69th powered National University to a 1-0 win over University of the East. The Bulldogs have seven points while the Red Warriors have one.
