THE Philippines’ finest booters take on a top Australian club in three friendlies in the next few days starting on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium and ends on the road in Vigan on Tuesday.

Perth Glory FC tests the mettle of Global FC on Wednesday, the United Football League All-Stars on Saturday, both matches at Rizal Memorial, before facing the Azkals in the Ilocos Sur capital city on Tuesday in matches that serve as part of the UFL's midseason showcase.

Loyola Meralco coach Simon McMenemy will handle the UFL All-Stars, bannered, among others, by Sparks midfielder Jason de Jong and Global FC winger Matt Hartmann, who said it’s a gauge where the Philippines stands in continental football.

“We can see where we are in Asia,” Hartmann said ahead of the 3 p.m. kickoff on Saturday. “It would be great to see how we play against Perth Glory.”
But Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe insisted it will be “tough” for them playing against in-form booters.

“We are in our preseason against guys who are midway their season,” said the British coach, whose club finished fifth out of 10 clubs in the last A-League season.
