HANOI – It seems Philippine men’s football team coach Thomas Dooley is set to reward Patrick Reichelt for his fine play in the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup.
Reichelt showed he deserved to be a starter after firing half of the Azkals’ output in their 4-1 victory over Laos last Saturday.
And Dooley hinted at inserting Reichelt in the starting lineup against Indonesia on Tuesday after the 26-year-old striker-winger made a huge impact in limited time as a substitute.
“I always want to wait at the last minute… but obviously Patrick comes in and scores two goals, so you want to keep that going,” Dooley said.
“So he most likely will start,” the German-American mentor was quick to add.
That could mean Mark Hartman, who Reichelt replaced in the 65th minute, could come off the bench.
Jerry Lucena, Manny Ott, Patrick Deyto, Juani Guirado, Misagh Bahadoran, Daisuke Sato, Amani Aguinaldo, Martin Steuble, Simone Rota, and Phil Younghusband were the other starters against Laos.
