THE Azkals begin their campaign in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 on Tuesday night when they face Cambodia at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh.
The Philippine squad will compete in Southeast Asia’s premier men’s football tournament with mostly young players from the Philippines Football League and the Azkals Development Team.

The first test will be against Cambodia at 5 p.m. (6 p.m., Manila time).
The Azkals had their training camp at the Rizal Memorial Stadium where the home matches of the team will be held.
Before leaving for Cambodia, the Philippines faced Vietnam in a friendly in Hanoi, with the Azkals losing, 1-0.
“I think we have made a decision to build this squad around a group of young players with some more experienced ones as well and for me, this is my first time in charge of a national team so I’m also very excited,” said newly-appointed Philippines head coach Josep Ferre.
Stephan Schrock leads the four Azkals players who have 14 or more caps in their international career.
