THE Philippine Football Federation has released the 35-man national men’s team pool, from which the Azkals’ roster for the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup in Vietnam will be picked.
Chieffy Caligdong, Neil Etheridge, Mike Ott, and Jason Sabio are some who have gained a chance to earn a call-up after not being in the conversation for a while.
After all, Caligdong has recovered from a foot injury, while Etheridge has found a new club in third-tier English side Oldham Athletic.
The Filipino-German Ott has yet to earn his first international cap, while Sabio has recently returned from the US.
Midfielder Jason de Jong was listed, but he has recently retired from national duty at age 24 citing personal reasons.
Javier Patiño was excluded from the provisional list after the Filipino-Spanish striker decided to undergo back surgery after leading Buriram United to a second successive championship in the Thai league.
