THE Philippine Football Federation on Tuesday filed a complaint before Fifa (International Football Association) over the 'racist abuse' Azkals' fans and players allegedly recieved during their away friendly against Hong Kong at Mong Kok Stadium last week.
The development was confirmed by PFF general secretary Edwin Gastanes, who made the decision after evaluating the "comprehensive report" he received last Friday from the head of the Azkals' delegation to the friendly.
The complaint came exactly a week after the Azkals beat Hong Kong, 1-0, in an international friendly in the opponent's turf that was marred by an unruly behavior from the home fans.
Several Twitter posts last Tuesday claimed Filipino fans in the stands suffered abuse from home fans who threw mineral bottles, shouted profanities, and made obscene gestures at Filipinos, mostly women and children.
