ASTON Villa is set to get a replacement for Christian Benteke with the arrival of Jordan Ayew in the UK.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian striker arrived on Friday and is set to complete the move from French side Lorient, which has accepted Villa’s £9m offer, according to theguardian.com.
Belgium striker Benteke moved to Liverpool from Villa on a £32.5million deal.
Ayew scored 12 goals for Lorient in the French League last season.
“I’m delighted to have arrived in the UK and to have the opportunity to join a club the size of Aston Villa,” Ayew told Sky Sports News.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the manager and I am very excited about the prospect of playing in the best league in the world.
