GREEN Archers United secured its place in the top flight of the United Football League next season as it drubbed PSG, 3-0, on a rainy Saturday night at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
Ilonggo standouts Chieffy Caligdong, Jesus Melliza, and Tating Pasilan were on target for the Archers, who vaulted past their victims in the sixth spot.
More importantly, the victory assured the worst Archers could finish this season is eighth place. With 17 points to show and three games remaining, the Archers can still aim as high as fourth place, currently occupied by Kaya, which has 24 points under its belt.
The bottom-ranked team in the 10-team field at the end of the competition is automatically relegated, while the ninth-ranked team remains in danger of getting demoted and would have to engage the runner up of the Division 2 in a two-game series for the right to claim a Division 1 spot.
PSG failed to build on its 7-2 win over Nomads last week as it dropped to seventh place.
