GREEN Archers United banked on another outstanding offensive outing from Christian Floriano “Tating” Pasilan Jr. as it drubbed Diliman, 3-0, on Thursday night in the United Football League Cup at the University of Makati pitch.
Proving why he is one of the best Filipino booters outside the national team, the 26-year-old San Carlos city native scored a brace to power the Archers to the top of Group B.
Jes Melliza also struck for La Salle’s alumni club, which eliminated Diliman from quarterfinal contention.
The Archers have seven points like Kaya, but have the group lead owing to a five-point advantage in goal difference.
Melliza opened the scoring for the Archers 14 minutes into the game when he converted a penalty kick, before Pasilan doubled the lead five minutes before halftime and added another goal just two minutes after intermission.
Diliman ended its four-game elimination-round campaign with two draws and two losses for two points overall.
In the nightcap, Forza blanked Dolphins United, 3-0, in another Group B affair to stay alive in the quarterfinal race.
Isaac Agyie fired a brace, while Dibi Pascal added another goal as Forza registered its first win of the tournament after starting with a draw and loss.
The Dolphins remained at the bottom of the field with two losses and a draw.
