TWO teams still in danger of relegation battle for safety on Thursday in the United Football League at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.

Green Archers United and Philippine Air Force collide in the opener of the double-header at 5:15 p.m. with both clubs hoping to create more distance from cellar-dwelling Army.

A victory for the Archers, with eight points to show, will strengthen their grip on the eighth spot. A triumph for the ninth-running Airmen, with six points under their belt, will propel the military club past the Archers.

The bottom-ranked team at the end of competition will be relegated. The team that finishes the season in ninth place will also be in jeopardy and will face the Division 2 runner-up in a two-game series.

The Archers turned back the Airmen, 4-1, in their first-round meeting last February in Chieffy Caligdong’s first game against his former team.

But the national team skipper’s current team will be facing a rejuvenated side that won back-to-back before the streak was snapped by powerhouse Loyola Meralco.
