Philippine Air Force kicks off its title defense in the United Football League Cup on Sunday against Agila at The Fields in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa Laguna.
The Airmen, bannered by the country’s most recognized homegrown player in Emelio Caligdong along with fellow national team mainstay Ian Araneta, take on Agila at 4 p.m. on Field 2 in Group D action.
Philippine Army and Stallion, who are both bracketed in Group D with Air Force, make their debuts at 2 o’clock on Field 1.
Reigning League champion Global, meanwhile, goes for its second win in Group A as it faces a dangerous General Trias earlier at 2 o’ clock at Field 3.
Global, which leaned on the goals of Izo El-Habbib, Carli de Murga, and Misagh Bahadoran in their 3-1 win over Pasargad on opening night last Tuesday, has to be wary of its Korean-laden opponents. General Trias blanked Philippine Navy, 5-0, in their debut on Thursday night.
In Group B, Kaya tries to register its first win after settling for a 1-1 draw against Green Archers as it collides with Forza at 4 o’clock on Field 1.
A couple of Group C matches are also featured on the same day with Mendiola taking on Pachanga at 2 o’clock on Field 2 and Laos facing Nomads at 4 o’clock on Field 3.
