TNC Pro Team broke a five-season playoff drought and appeared as title hopefuls, but in the unforgiving MPL arena, the Phoenix has fallen. Despite their underdog status, TNC pushed the team consisting of M5 World Champions to the brink of elimination.
Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera openly expressed his regret and reflected on the "what if" that could have altered the course for TNC Pro Team.
“Nanghihinayang po sobra kasi syempre game five. Meron po kasi kami parang isang pinaka “what if” nung larong yun pero hindi ko na po sasabihin. Hindi namin siya nagawa kasi nagkasundo kami bilang team sa decision na isa,” Yawi said.
“Nanghihinayang po pero proud pa rin naman po ako. Syempre, nakapakitaan namin sila ng magandang laban. Sayang naman po talaga kasi kaya po namin talaga eh,” he added.
Meanwhile, TNC Head Coach Douglas “ImbaDeejay” Astibe shared the same sentiment and also took into account what went wrong for the TNC Pro Team in the heated matchup against Team Falcons.
“Sayang kasi yung ibang games, yung unang dalawang talo. Kumbaga nalugi talaga kami sa hero sobra. Malaking factor yun sa draft talaga kasi yung unang dalawang game, kaya one-sided kasi mahirap talaga yung hero,” ImbaDeejay said.
Although the journey may have come to an end this season, the greatness of TNC Pro Team was on full display by exceeding expectations and overcoming many challenges they faced along the way.
TNC Pro Team stood strong against the league’s powerhouse teams, and their unwavering spirit did not falter until the very end.
The Phoenix Army’s future might be uncertain, yet their potential suggests a bright future and a strong comeback ahead.
