THE RECENT M5 World Championship match between Indonesia's Geek Fam and CIS' Deus Vult has been rattled with emotions as both teams exchanged taunts and wild celebrations against each other.
This was highlighted by Mathaios "Kid Bomba" Chatzilakos' decision to silence the crowd, which Allen Jedric "Baloyskie" Baloy responded with a crybaby face.
However one player was punished for his actions, Geek Fam's Manuel "Nnael" Simbolon.
In their recent Facebook post, MOONTON gave Nnael a two-match suspension.
"The committee has decided to impose a two-match suspension on Geek Fam's Nnael. We will take active steps to ensure that all teams are reminded of the rules concerning professionalism," as stated in the post.
As to why he was sanctioned? According to MOONTON: "Nnael has committed a violation that prohibits any team member from making inappropriate and insulting gestures."
MOONTON didn't reveal what Nnael did to deserve such judgment, however there were hints from social media.
What Nnael did against Deus Vult
MLBB Esports published an Instagram story, which highlighted Geek Fam's series win over their CIS counterparts. In the post, Nnael shoved two middle fingers.
The story has been deleted.
With Nnael gone, Geek Fam will have to rely on the services of their reserve player, Mohammad "Caderaa" Pambudi. It wouldn't be an easy transition as Caderaa is a gold laner while Nnael is the team's jungler.
Geek Fam currently has no other jungler listed in their roster.
Given what has transpired, it would be interesting to see how Geek Fam will lineup in their succeeding matches. Will Mark "Markyyyyy" Capacio transition to a jungler?
As of now Geek Fam is done with their group stage campaign.
UPDATE: Geek Fam apologizes
After the announcement from MOONTON, Geek Fam officially released their statement.
"We apologise for the trouble we cause after match against @deusvult_mlbb, and this is a responsibility we take as a team, not as single individual. We hope everyone forgives our weakness in the heat of the moment."
"Rest assured, we will better manage our emotions in the future. We'll take it as a learning oportunity for the team, and we thank you for your support."
