THE PREVIOUS YEARS have shown the Philippines' prowess in the esports scene given the gold medals we attained during the Southeast Asian Games and the IESF events.
While these are signs that the Philippine esports scene is booming, there are still some lingering concerns stemming from the development of players. It can be argued that Philippine esports is stacked with talents left and right, meaning that some players can be overshadowed.
Sibol General Manager Jab Escutin perfectly said it in a PTV news broadcast saying: "Maraming mga hidden gems e, yung mga diamonds in the rough na mga athletes na tingin namin na na-outshine ng mga seasoned pros pagdating sa pagiging Sibol national athlete."
To address this issue, the Philippine Esports Organization pushed for an esports national tournament known as the Unity League. Teams who win the Unity League will earn Php 2 million pesos and a chance to be involved in the national training pool for Sibol.
"I think this program will give us a diamond in the rough that we can develop further and hopefully this somebody can take advantage of this chance," reflected Escutin.

How to join?
Registration for the MLBB tournament is already ongoing with NCR already commencing. Meanwhile the other regions have yet to begin their registration.
Northern Luzon and Southern Luzon have been included with registrations happening at February 24 and March 16 respectively.
March 23 is the start of registration for the Visayas region while Mindanao will begin on April 6.
Players and teams who wish to participate must be 18 years old and above, a Filipino citizen, and must possess 1 valid ID.
And for those who wish to join the MLBB leg, players shouldn't be currently involved with the MLBB Development League and MLBB Professional League.
