CERTIFIED nerd Henry Cavill’s hands have been getting busy this lockdown — this time, assembling a gaming PC.
The actor, who’s played Superman in the DC Extended Universe and Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series The Witcher, took on the monumental task of making his own gaming rig from scratch.
He’s blurred out the brand names, but IGN was able to identify most of the parts. They included an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 TI video card, AMD Ryzen 3900X, and 32 GB of RAM, all mounted on an ROG Crosshair Hero motherboard, with two 1TB Samsung SSD hard drives and a Kraken X series cooling system.
The gaming publication estimated the entire thing, (not including case, keyboard, and mouse) probably cost $4,700, or around P232,000.
For comparison, Alden Richards told PEP.ph that his gaming rig cost around P450,000 (though that price includes gaming furniture and streaming equipment).
It was definitely a labor of love for Cavill, who spent the entire night setting it up. (Those water coolant cables seemed to really trip him up.)
The result: a LED-lit powerhouse that can comfortably run The Witcher III at max settings, in case he wants to play his own role in video game form.
Plus points, too, for using Barry White on the soundtrack.
