THE MOST notable esports titles stem from video games with the likes of League of Legends, Dota 2, and VALORANT being the trends in the current market.
However there are games which may initially look like they aren't catered to be an esports title, only for them to end up being one, with Genshin Impact being a notable example all thanks to Hoyoverse's events.
But did you know that even workplace applications can be used as an esports title? Take for instance, Microsoft Excel.
This may seem like a joke, but MS Excel esports is legit to the point where contestants will be given the chance to travel accross the globe to input formulas.
What happens in MS Excel esports?
Given the prestige and the competitive landscape of MS Excel esports, the tournaments aren't just focus on the player just inputting =SUM(A3:E3).
Upon watching the videos on YouTube, MS Excel esports features a truckload of varying problems and contestants need to address them within a certain time period while maximizing all the formulas they learned in Excel, ultimately challenging the contestants' logic, mastery, and composure.
There are even some aspects from traditional esports that are included in Excel, for instance some videos will reveal an APM meter, a metric used to determine a contestant's typing speed, prevalent in real time strategy games like WarCraft and StarCraft.
There are even VODs that show which keys were used to solve the problem.
Given the overall setting, one may learn to appreciate Microsoft Excel. Imagine how frustrating our lives would be when our boss would require us to make Excel sheets similar to that in the esports landscape.
Thank goodness the challenging part is only limited to the "IF or <,> functions.
