ZEN ESPORTS, a parody esports team in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang scene will now be taking its talents in a much more grandeur stage as they'll represent the Philippines for Sibol in the Road to Asian Games Campaign, to be held in Hangzhou, China.

But here's the catch, they won't be playing Mobile Legends Bang Bang, but rather a new MOBA game known as Dream Three Kingdoms 2. The game has yet to be released in the Philippines.

Members of the team consists of MLBB shoutcasters, Manjean Faldas, Shin Boo Ponferrada, Caisam "Wolf" Nopueto, Neil "Midnight" De Guzman, Mark Adrian "Butters" Frias, and Karl "Rockhart" To.

Given the game's unavailability in the Philippines, which meant there are no players in the country, the Philippine Esports Organization (PESO) had to select a willing representative, something that Manjean Faldas revealed in an exclusive with Spin.ph.

"Tinanong ako ng PESO kung G akong bumuo ng team para maglaro ng DTK. Ang unang naisip ko is yung parody team namin na Zen Esports, kaya binato ko kami. Matagal na rin [kaming] magkakilala tas feeling ko naman may Chemistry. Feeling ko lang..." revealed the MLBB shoutcaster.

The bond between the team is strong and that could be their driving force to make our country proud given the struggles that they endured.

A long road ahead for Zen Esports

Since there are no Philippine servers, the team had to grind their way and overcome the high ping issues.

"Nagte-training kami for 2-3 months na simula nung plinano. Sinubukan namin mag-rank game, pero mataas lang yung ping kasi hindi officially released yung game sa Pinas, pero syempre nilaro parin namin," he explained to Spin.ph.

He later mentioned: "Actually joke [lang], si PHI.Frias (Butters) nilalaban niya yung high ping. So kami nung iba AI nalang muna kasi pina-practice namin yung mechanics."

And with the team heading to Hangzhou, the ZEN Esports squad is hoping to finally get legitimate scrim partners.

"Naghahanap nga kami ng scrim partners e. Inisip namin baka mamaya alam nila na malakas kami so umaatras hahahhahaha," said Manjean in a sarcastic manner.

But looking back at how the team was assembled, things wouldn't materialize without the help of Zen Angeles, the man behind Zen Esports.

"Shoutout nga pala sa phantom manager namin na si Zen Angeles at sa Philippines Esports Organization para sa oppotunity na to na-i-represent ang bansa sa larangan ng esports."
